THz ANTENNAS

THz technology is rapidly progressing. Design is challenging due to very large electrical sizes of the antenna. Following 300 GHz antennas have been developed within the framework of the THz project led by one of the major  automotive and defence players. Two antennas presented here as examples of quazioptic design approach used in combination with mode matching technique.

Rectangular Horn and Lens

Specification:

Passband: 267-311GHz. Beamwidth:  1.6 deg (H-plane)    10 deg (E-plane)

Design is based on the multimode horn loaded with Rexolite 1422 Fresnel-type Plano-convex lens 15mmx52mm rectangular.
